Problem: The activity bar in the bottom left is not adequately visible to regular users who don't know that something is happening.  They then try to do about 5 clicks and then have to wait about 20-30 secs for the server to process everything causing frustration with the system. 

Solution: It may be a good idea to prevent queuing of server requests or at least have the ability to cancel by pressing escape.  The ability to cancel server requests would also allow for mouse wheel zooming - a feature that everybody expects these days.
