Problem : Users can only change whether the predefined autolabel layer is visible or not, they can’t label individual objects (or the selection set) and they can’t pick a different field to label, and they can’t label objects using a databind to another data source. For example a common task would be to autolabel properties with the land owners name – this normally only exists in a databind to the rates system, not the map layer. Solution : Allow user to – Autolabel the selection set, Autolabel individually selected objects (same as MapInfo Pro), Autolabel any databind column, including databinds to external sources. Perhaps the admin could set the default autolabel style for each databind and then the user could right click on a column heading in the info tab (on any databind) and set that to “Label All”, “Label Selection” or “Label Individual”. There would need to be an additional button in the toolbar for “Label Individual” to select the objects to label. Perhaps there could also be a user style override that lets them change the autolabel style. Requested on ALGMUG by:Paul Nicholson Comments (0)
