Either per layer styles or an override style for polygon selections instead of a fill pattern.  Prefer per layer styles as this gives greatest flexibility, can be implemented by allowing for specific named style overrides in the workspace (mws) e.g. “ActiveSelection”, “NormalSelection”.  Current selection styles and options in Exponare don’t “cut the mustard” and need serious attention!

Version 3 partially fixes this problem by allowing selections of polygons as an outline instead of a hatched fill pattern.  MUCH BETTER

V3 much better but...

Styles in v3 are much better, however the inverse colour used to highlight the selection causes clairty problems when there are underlying raster layers such as aerial photography. An option to set to opaque would be really useful.
