On Wednesday 11 June some presentations related to elevation data have been organised to coincide with a visit to Wellington by Dr Dorota Grejner-Brzezinska.  Dr Grejner-Brzezinska is an Associate Professor in Geodetic Science and leader of the Satellite Positioning and Inertial Navigation (SPIN) Laboratory at Ohio State University.  She is a world leader in the use of real time Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) applications.

The National Address Register (NAR) project is a cross-government initiative set up to develop infrastructure to improve the provision of address, road and place name information for government agencies, businesses and the wider community.
The project is over-seen by a Steering Committee comprised of representatives of key stakeholders from central government, local government and emergency services agencies.

Government agencies and local authorities have signed up for a private United States satellite service that will provide images of New Zealand clear enough to show every building, road marking and bush.

Jos Kunnen has joined location intelligence specialist Critchlow as chief executive officer. Kunnen was CIO of Contact Energy from 2004 to 2006. Before that, he was HP's Australasian general manager of consulting and systems integration. Former Critchlow CEO Kirsty Coombe resigned to spend more time with her family in the Coromandel. She remains on the company’s board.
