Thematic colouring of tables with different object types
Hi, I want to thematically colour a table containing lines, regions and points. This is not possible in Mapinfo, as you can ONLY use different colours and NOT forms (for points, symbols etc.) or line- characteristics. So I then tried using 3 queries, dividing the base-table in a query containing points (qry_points), a query containing lines (qry_lines)

Printing in MI9.0
I am getting wierd blank rectangles in my background raster when I try to print large images from MI9, but printing the same workspace in MI 8.5 works fine. I get the same affect attempting to print to pdf or to directly to the printer, which sugests to me that there is a problem with MI9. Has anyone been able to solve a similar problem?

Re: [MI-L] Help me about MbBuilder
WHAT?! You've been asking for help from this group and getting good answers (for free), and then you go and insult with intent to rip off one of the longest-standing members of MapInfo-L by asking for a crack of his software?!?! Using cracked software is stealing. Even if the software is sold by a big corporation, you are still stealing from hard

RE: [MI-L] Re: Calling sub routine from VB
I've found the answer in order do this you need to loop through the running mapinfo applications once you've found yours then you can do the following Set MapInfo = GetObject(, "MapInfo.Application") Set appList = MapInfo.MBApplications For appCount = 1 To appList.Count

Running Mapinfo on a Server Machine
Hi, Just wondering if anyone has had any issues with running a copy of MI on a server machine rather than a desktop? We don't use it like a server version like you would but more like a desktop - I just have it on this machine so I can run my mapbasic scripts from there rather than freezing my own machine up while trying to write new ones. Read raster values
Hello everybody. Any idea on how to read the values of a raster file? The file is a TIFF raster created in ArcGIS. I registered it in Mapinfo but i cant see any values. I guess that is reasonable. What i have to do is to read the RGB values (i think). I was hoping that there is a ready function in Mapbasic but i cant seem to find

Polygon style and fill has changed - and I didn't do it!!!
For some reason along the way, some of my polygons have changed colour and style. Originally I converted black polylines into polygons - also black. At present, the majority of my polygons are still black and of the correct line type but others have changed to: 1. Yellow line with yellow fill

Getting coordinates for existing points without Discover
Good afternoon; I just used p2p.mbx to convert all of the nodes in my topographic contours while preserving elevation. Now I need to grid these points in Geosoft Target. But first I need to get the coordinates for each of these points. My previous employer had several copies of Discover, which is the only way I know how to get coordinates for points that

Problem printing without margins to different printers
Hello Although I have come across a discussion about my problem it does not appear to resolve my issue. The problem is that although I have a layout which fits the page size perfectly, the save window function always puts a margin to the right and below the layout contents. I have tried two different Laser printers (Xerox Phasers), the Acrobat

Basic Question about Summing/Merging Geographic Regions - Spatial SQL Query Help I have a novice user question about summing/merging the values (frequency spectrum depth) in geographic regions.
