National Address Register (NAR) Terminated

The National Address Register (NAR) project is a cross-government initiative set up to develop infrastructure to improve the provision of address, road and place name information for government agencies, businesses and the wider community.
The project is over-seen by a Steering Committee comprised of representatives of key stakeholders from central government, local government and emergency services agencies.

Satellite camera has NZ covered

New Critchlow CEO

Jos Kunnen has joined location intelligence specialist Critchlow as chief executive officer. Kunnen was CIO of Contact Energy from 2004 to 2006. Before that, he was HP's Australasian general manager of consulting and systems integration. Former Critchlow CEO Kirsty Coombe resigned to spend more time with her family in the Coromandel. She remains on the company’s board.

Liz Kolster, Mairead Deroiste, Catherine O'Shaugnessy  and I have volunteered to help Karl Majorhazi organise a NZ woman's branch of the Spatial Sciences Institute (SSI - http://www.spatialsciences.org.au/) similar to the "Woman In Spatial"  (WIS) group in Australia Meetings (http://www.spatialsciences.org.au/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=47&Itemid=59)  
 

 
We would like to invite any woman who is interested in geospatial sciences to our first get together at the Brewery Bar (http://www.thebrewerybar.co.nz/), on the corner of Taranaki and Cable Streets on the Waterfront in Wellington; Monday, March 31st @ 5:30pm. Statistics - 2008 Annual Pattern

The 2008 Annual Pattern is now available for download from Statistics NZ website in NZMG or NZTM:

The 2008 Annual Pattern includes - Meshblock, Area Unit, TA, Regional Council, Urban Area and General and Maori Electoral Districts (for the 2008 General Election) and Wards (2007 Local Body Elections).

StreetLink is also now available for download:

StreetLink is made up of 2 parts - Streets File and an Areas File:
1. The Streets files is an electronic list of address ranges and street names that fall within meshblocks - this is updated monthly
2. The 2008 Annual Areas File - this concordance file relates to the 2008 Digital Boundaries
